On Point Solutions Adds MWES Easy-Arc Laser Welding Cells to Their Product Line-Up

On Point Solutions is always looking for solutions that can help their clients improve their profitability, and is proud to now add two of those solutions to their offerings. The Midwest Engineered Systems Easy-Arc Laser Weld Cell delivers both simple and complex welding applications in a compact footprint while achieving the benefits of laser welding: less heat affected zone, cleaner weld, and faster cycle times. These cells are integrated laser welding solutions on one skid, offering high-quality and consistent welding production output in a fully-enclosed work cell.

On Point Solutions is offering two MWES Welding Cells: the MWES Easy-Arc HW Laser Weld Cell and the MWES Easy-Arc FW Laser Weld Cell. MWES lists several advantages of utilizing a full enclosed laser welding system:

·       A full enclosure provides protection from laser radiation and fumes for the operator and manufacturing environment

·       A reduced risk of contamination and oxidation of the weld by creating a controlled atmosphere inside the enclosure

·       Faster welding speeds and lower input resulting in higher productivity and quality

·       More flexibility and versatility by accommodating different workpieces and configurations

Both carts utilize an ABB 8 kg laser welding robot, as well as a cell controller with resume, shifting, and online help function. The MWES Easy-Arc HW Laser Weld Cell and FW Laser Weld Cell are available in laser power options of 4 kW, 6 kW, or 8 kW. The rotation axis servo positions has a capacity of 1100 lb/500 kg, a swing diameter of 38 or 42inches, and a head and tailstock measuring 42inches or 118 inches.

The fully integrated laser and optics are per customers specs, and comes with cold and hot wire feed options. The integrated fume hood is available with an optional fume collector.
